This is my new project car! It is a '68 coupe, six cylinder automatic, originally Gulfstream Aqua but painted a lighter blue somewhere along the way. It has a parchment deluxe interior with a bench seat. It has 77k miles on it, and has only had one owner. It was stolen and recovered, but the theives had ruined the engine, so it's sat under a tarp in the owner's driveway with a dented fender for three years, waiting for someone to come rescue it.

newblu15.jpg (150298 bytes)Front bench seat, with comfortweave (cloth inserts), also rare and cool. If only we still had drive-in movies around here :-)

Well, needless to say, I am pretty taken with this little car. Where I was eager to add new bucket seats and upholstered door panels to old Bloo, I think this interior is absolutely charming just the way it it. All it needs are shoulder belts and a little cleaning up. I'm looking forward to moving Bloo's suspension and drivetrain over to this car, but I'd like to keep this one just the way it came from the factory otherwise. I'll eventually get it repainted the correct color, and that's all she needs done (that's going to be plenty of work anyway).
