Vintage Runabout Restoration
In late 2007, thanks to an ad I spotted on Craigslist, I got into boats. I wasn't planning on it, but I fell in love. Before I know it I had a boat! This is a vintage runabout/speedboat. It is very similar to late 50's - early 60's Glass Magic Playmaster, but there are some differences on the deck mold. Not sure if it's a knockoff or if someone else bought the molds and produced it, or if Glass Magic changed the mold for some reason. For the moment I'll go with the assumption that it is a Playmaster.

The boat has a bad transom and we're beginning disassembly to do repairs. Hope to have it done in time to hit the water spring '08!
and a motor of matching vintage which I picked up off CL.
So this site will follow the restoration of these two, and hopefully someday I'll have pages and pages of good times on the water to report back on.
