Deja Bloo

plate.jpg (163000 bytes) This page is devoted to my '68 Mustang Coupe 'Deja Bloo'. The goal was to build a resto-modified street cruizer. Before Deja Bloo there was another '68 named Bloo (I like to name my cars, what can I say). Old Bloo turned out to be a rustbucket, despite his outward beauty, and he was parted out with most of the parts staying here for use on Deja. So on Old Bloo's page you'll find links to lots of work I did on old Bloo before I gave up on him (including the popular seat belt and bucket seat articles). Most of the info on Deja Bloo is relating to swapping the parts over from old Bloo, and converting her from a six cylinder car to a V8.  In May 2002 John Z and his wife Deb bought Deja, flew out here and drove it over 3000 miles to their home in WV. So I guess I did ok on building a street-cruizer, because it made it there, no problem.

Why did I sell my Mustang?

A lot of people wanted to know why I sold my mustang. I didn't intend to sell it, I had said that many times. There were lots of little reasons, but the main one was I wanted to buy a Bronco, and one of my mustangs had to go, either the 95 convertible, or Deja Bloo. My husband likes the convertible. I liked them both. After much debate I decided to sell Deja. It must have been fate or something, because at the same time as I decided to sell, Deb got online looking for mustangs to buy so John could replace his pony. I heard from them within a few hours of posting my 'for sale' notice, and the rest is history. So I think the real reason I sold it is - because it was time. I didn't need it anymore, and someone else did. Of course, I didn't get my Bronco either. Proving once again that you just never know how things are going to turn out, our friends decided to sell their very nice, almost finished 1968 corvette for a very reasonable price, and I couldn't resist. They didn't decide to lower the price on it until well after I had sold Deja, and I couldn't have bought it before, so once again, it was just fate. My husband loves the corvette, and so finally we have an old car we're both happy with. Someday, when he's not paying close attention, I might just sneak another mustang home.
